Y2K was very real to some of us old people – the panic of the possibility that maybe when the clock struck midnight on the new year to 2000, planes would fall from the sky, banks would lose all record of money, and your Walkman may no longer pick up any radio station playing sounds of fireworks.

Now, Y2K is trending as any teenager worth their salt will tell you. Baggy jeans, butterfly hair clips, layered tank tops, and Bedazzlers are sold out everywhere! There have been 24 years since Y2K, meaning many of those maxing out their parent’s credit cards for these items are lacking the true chaos of Y2K.

We have provided a curated playlist to set the Y2K fear-mongering mood to either relive the experience or to find your place in the Y2K wonderland for the first time. Short of a time machine, this is the best we could do.
